Updating Your Logo
There could be many reasons. Maybe you rebranded or have a logo update. Maybe you had compliance issues. Whatever the reason, updating your logo is a straight forward and easy task.
To ensure your logo looks clean, crisp, and proper in all aspects of the website, both desktop and mobile, there are a few checks we need to make.
- Make sure your Logo is in SVG format.
- An SVG logo allows your logo to always be perfectly crisp and clear at any size on every device.
- A .jpg file can be used if an SVG is not available, or your logo can't be represented as an SVG because of extremely fine detail or complex textures. This isn't recommended because your logo may not always render perfectly sharp, especially on newer devices with high resolution.
- Create a dark version and a light version of your logo.
To take advantage of Greater Green's 'Dark Mode' option, you will need a logo that can stand out with proper contrast on both a light background and a dark backgroud.
A SVG is a an acronym for 'scalable vector graphic'. It is fundementally different than an jpg or a png. PNG and JPG are raster images made of pixels, like photographs. An SVG is 100% scalable because it describes the shape of objects mathematically. This is important because it allows the logo to retain crisp clean lines, no matter how much you zoom in or out. We want this capability to display the logo perfect in all applications. It's also a much lower file size, reducing load time and increasing site performance.
- Navigate to 'Theme Settings'
- Create a dark version and a light version of your logo.
- Be sure to add the sizes of the logo for both 'mobile' and 'desktop' screens. This is important because we don't want the header shifting around while your logo is loading. If you aren't sure the best sizes to use, reach out to customer support and we will be happy to assist.
